Installation Procedure...

 

Installing Your LJ1200...

 

• Locate the Parallel Port or USB port through which you want to connect your Printer to the PC.

 

• Connect the Printer port and PC with the Interface Cable.

 

• Locate the Printer Power Connector on the Rear Side of the Printer

 

• Connect the Power Cable to the Power Connector.

 

 

Start/Stop Procedure...

 

 

Locate the Switch on the Rear of the Printer.

 

• Make your Printer ON using the Switch.

 

• It is good to switch ON the Printer before you Switch ON your PC.

 

• For Switching OFF the Printer, use the same Switch.

 

• Before you switch OFF your Printer, ensure that nobody is using your Printer (if it is Shared in a Network)

Printer Control Panel...

 

Go button and light

 

To print a configuration page or to continue printing, press and release the Go button.

 

Ready light

 

Indicates that the printer is ready to print.

 

Attention light

 

Indicates printer media input tray is empty, toner door is open, toner cartridge is missing, or other errors.

 

Paper Handling...

 

Priority Input Tray

 

 

•Open the straight-through output door.

 

Before loading the sheets, slide the media guides outward to slightly wider than the envelopes.

 

 

Place the sheet with the side to be printed facing up.

 

•Adjust the media guides to the length and width of the sheet.

 

Main Input Tray

 

 

•Open the straight-through output door.

 

•Before loading the sheets, slide the media guides outward to slightly wider than the sheets.

 

•Place the sheets with the side to be printed facing up.

 

•Adjust the media guides to the length and width of the sheets.

 

•Replace the priority input tray.

 

Consumable Management...

 

Cartridge Handling...

 

• Open the toner door

 

• Remove the toner cartridge and set it aside.

 

• With both hands, grasp the side of the media that is most visible (this includes the middle), and carefully pull it free from the printer.

 

• Replace the toner cartridge slowly and correctly to fit, and close the toner door

 

• Please see the Instructions that comes along with Toner Cartridge, before replacing

Troubleshooting Aspect...

 

Testing Your Printer...

 

• The Configuration or Test page provides all of the printer configuration settings, a sample of the print quality.

 

• The Test Page is to verify that the printer is printing correctly.

 

• To Print a configuration page while the printer is in the Ready state, press and release the Go button on the Control Panel.

 

Maintaining Your Printer...

 

• When toner is low, faded or light areas appear on the printed page. You might be able to temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the toner.

 

• Remove the Toner Cartridge and gently shake it from side to side

 

To maintain Print Quality,

 

Keep the printer free from dust and debris

 

Clean the outside of the printer with a lightly water-dampened cloth.

 

–Clean the inside with a dry, lint-free cloth.

 

Cleaning Procedure...

 

• If you are experiencing toner specks or dots on the printouts, clean the printer media path.

 

• This process uses a transparency to remove dust and toner from the media path. Do not use bond or rough paper. Discard the transparency.

 

–Load a transparency in the priority input tray.

 

–Make sure that the printer is in the Ready state.

 

–Press and hold the Go button for 10 seconds.

 

–The transparency feeds slowly through the printer.

 

–Discard the transparency
