Condition I:
If the IDU LED Status is not
Normal as shown above, do the
following:
Power Cycle (Reboot) the IDU, wait for sometime till it becomes stable. If still problem persists then Power it off and check the cables for Receive box (IRU) and Transmit Box (ITU). Check all the cable connections. After redoing the cables, power it ON and check the LED Status again. If the LED Status is okay and still Internet connectivity is not there then go to next step.
Condition II:
To check the LAN connectivity
Ping to IDU (This can be done by invoking ping command from the system to gateway IP address, for example if the IP address of your gateway is 10.11.55.1, then invoke the command either from
1. Start -> run -> ping 10.11.55.1 –t –w 1000 , press OK, or from dos prompt type the command
c:\> ping 10.11.55.1 –t –w 1000 after that observe in the window the following results:
Pinging 10.11.55.1
with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.11.55.1:
bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=255
Reply from 10.11.55.1:
bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=255
Reply from 10.11.55.1:
bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=255
Reply from 10.11.55.1:
bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=255
The IP address of the respective Gateway is already given by HECL Engineer & is also available at CIC web site.
Case 1. If the ping is not working check the following:
· The Cable from PC to HUB, HUB port as well as the LED on the PC card should be glowing.
· Then check the Cable from HUB to IDU (Gateway), RJ-45 port on both ends of the cable connected should be glowing (green).
·
Check
the IP Address of PC, it should be in the same subnet as of IDU.
For Example if your Gateway IP address is 10.11.55.1
and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 then you can assign IP addresses to your PC’s
from 10.11.55.2 to 10.11.55.254.
·
Check
the default Gateway of your PC , it should be same as that of gateway( e,g 10.11.55.1 )
·
Check
the DNS entry Network Properties ,
it should be :
i) 164.100.10.18 ii) 164.100.3.1 iii) 164.100.17.3
·
From
the above three DNS’s address you can use any two.
Case 2. )
If
the ping to IDU is working then ping to NOC
C:\>ping
192.168.12.50 –t –w 5000
If this ping is working then ping to check
the Internet connectivity
.
If
problem still persists please log a call in the CIC website with the above
inputs.
