Jorhat Dev. Block has no huge potential of for Fishery. There are ponds and
natural water bodies. Fishing cultivation though limited but have earning
good money by utilizing their land
Stock and poultry occupy an important place in economic life of Jorhat Dev.
Block. Cattle, Buffalo Goat etc., the most common live stock animals in this
area. Though there is huge potentiality in this aspect but as because of
financial condition people some time cannot engage satisfactorily in this
In regard to forestry, there is not much costly resources in Jorhat Dev.
In regard to
Industry, mainly Tea Industry in Jorhat Dev. Block, which have their own
factory and produces enough tea and give supply to Guwahati Tea Auction
Center and Kolkata Tea Auction Center.
There are also some scale and cottage industry like handloom products,
bamboo and cane products etc.
Trade and Commerce:-
Approximately 5% of the
active workforce is engaged in trades and commerce in Jorhat Dev. Block.
Though there is enough potentiality in regard to trade and commerce but
infrastructural condition are not for any positive expansion in this regard.
