        Like a small island in an Ocean, in the Western part of greater Dhakuakhana Mouza, there is the little village of Khajua Gaon . At this village there lived Gunaram Borphukan, the heir of great Ahom hero Lachit Borphukan and his wife Late Kolimai Phukan. This deserving couple gave birth to five deserving sons of whom Sri Mohan Chandra Borphukan was the middle son. Sri Mohan Chandra Borphukan was born in 1921 on a particular Sunday in the Assamese month Bhada. By playing on -dust and dirt he spent bight (8) years of his childhood.

       After attaining the age of 8 (eight) years his primary education started at then No.1 Kalakata Prathamik Vidyalaya. In 1933 his gat admitted in to Dhakuakhana  M.V. school. After successful completion of his primary education. He studied these at Dhakuakhana M.V. school up to class VI. He concluded his studies in 1934 and started a primary school at Jorkata Rajabari of Machkhowa Mouza in 1938.After  one year of his teaching life , he gave up teaching due bad communication and family’s responsibilities that had to be carried out. In the mean time, Their blew the air of Non-co-operative Movement in Assam and at Dhakuakhana also the Social atmosphere become inclined to the Non-co-operative movement. At the time he joined congress. He had been selected as an active Cadre of Congress Santi Bahini (peace keeping  Force) and joined the training camp at Bamun Gaon Tiniali. After training, he was sent to Narayanpur, Gohpur, Lakhimpur, Azad, Panigaon, Kadam etc. for organizational work of Congress Santi Bahini and to inspire the common people for non co –operation movement. During the period of organizational work of join Congress Mukti Bahini in 1942. He successfully completed several training camp of Congress Mukti Bahini of Lakhimpur, Rahdhala Pukhuri, Panigaon and Angarkhowa etc.

           Being well trained he had join the commucating group of Congress Mukti Bahini in the non  co-operation  movement and had to communicate amongst the different leaders of Congress regarding the secret news and informations from time to time . He had to travel Sibsagar, Jorhat, Golahat, Borpathar, Lakhimpur etc. carring several secret information and news.

            In 1949 he stared his married life and became a disciple of Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha and devoted his spiritual thinking in Vaishnav Dharma.

            There after he started his social life in his locality. In 1964 he initiated to establish the Khajua Prathamik Vidyalaya and took the responsibility of the president ship of the Vidyalaya Parichalana Committee. As such he took active part in establishing the Jalbhari M.E. School and Became the member of the managing committee of the school. Moreover, in 1966 he took leading part in establishing the Pachim Dhakuakhana High School and Worked as a managing committee’s member. In 1972 he was selected as the president of the managing committee of Pachim Dhakuakhana High School and in the same year he was selected as a member of Dhakuakhana Gaon Panchayat.  Moreover he played an effective rule in establishing  the Dhakuakhana collage as well as Dhakuakhana Normal School and Pachim Dhakuakhana Collage.

            In 1979 he was selected the president of Congress(s) committee of Dhakuakhana he played the active rule to establish the statue of Mahatma Gandhi

at Dhakuakhana .In this way he has been engaged himself in different social work

and organization.

 

            At present, he has been availing freedom fighter’s pension from government. He has been maintaining his family peacefully and with mutual understanding with neighbors.

 

            We wish him a long life and a peacefully living.
