Way to Lakhimpur The district of Lakhimpur is 380 kilometers by road from Guwahati, the state capital of Assam. One can come to Lakhimpur by air, water and road. Lakhimpur has easy access to all of the major places of Assam through the above mentioned modes of communication. The Airport Authority of India has recently promoted Lilabari, the airport of Lakhimpur to national grade and Indian Airlines has launched a two-day-per-week flying schedule to Lakhimpur from Guwahati and vice-versa. The airport is some eight kilometers from the town of Lakhimpur. By road, numerous tourist and State transport vehicles operate and link Lakhimpur to all the places of importance, namely Guwahati, Tezpur, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Tinisukia, Sivasagar, Jorhat etc. This vehicles have both daily day and night. All the reputed road travel agencies have their branches in Lakhimpur. This agencies have their stoppages and booking counters in the town. By train, one passenger train, Arunachal Express operates between Lakhimpur and Guwahati via Rangia, Rangapara, Biswanath Chariali etc. This train leaves Guwahati n the evening and reaches Lakhimpur by the next morning. The railway station is situated in Nakari, approximately 2 km. from the town. The waterway links Lakhimpur with Dibrugarh, Sivasagar and Jorhat. Other means of transportation such as Tata Sumo, Maruti Van etc. are also available to and fro Lakhimpur.

Transport Very poor transportation for useless road condition. The population of
vehicles have
increased but unfortunately there have no improvement of roads. Annual heavy rain fall and floods are the main cause of this. ¤ Time Tables
¤Hiring Services Any time available excepts midnight. Autorickhaw,tempo,mimibus,407 bus ,taxi (varieties-car , van ,ambassador etc.) are the main hiring vehicles. Rickshaws are mostlyused in local transportation.
